‘Low social mobility and lack of educational opportunity is arguably the biggest social challenge of our times: the income gap between the richest and poorest in society continue to widen, while education opportunities remain overwhelmingly dominated by children from the most privileged homes’
Sutton Trust, 2014.
The Early Years Pupil Premium Funding (EYPP) is additional funding which can be applied for by the parents or carers of children attending the Pre-School. The funding is paid directly to the setting and is to be used to address the current underlying inequalities which exist between children from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and their peers.
The EYPP also includes funding for all current looked after children (LAC) and for those who have been looked after for one day or more previously, as well as children who have been adopted from care or have left care under a special guardianship order or a residency order since 30th December 2005.
If you believe your child may be eligible for the Early Years Pupil Premium Grant, please talk to our Administrator and complete the relevant section when completing your Nursery Education Funding form. Please be assured that any applications or inquiries are entirely confidential.
